Heart Dissection

Before Christmas, in December, Year Six were dissecting lamb hearts.

We had to work in groups of three and cut open the heart. Each group got one lamb heart. Then, we had to watch a video of a woman who dissected a heart all the way through. We will share with you some experienceย  that we had.

Victoria:ย My group had me, Shakira and Diana in it. I was the person who mostly did the cutting because I had lots of experience. Miss Antoniou took some pictures of us and here is a picture of my group:ย

Jesica: In my group I had me, Elizabeth and Amelia. I did most of the cutting, just like Victoria, because I love dissecting. One thing I hated was the smell. It smelt like moldy cheese. Here is a picture of my group:ย

It was very fun and impressive to the teachers. I hope we do something like this again!

Duck life :)

Year One have had a special delivery of some very important eggs!

We have been studying Animals including Humans in our science topic this half term and are very excited to look after and watch our baby ducklings hatch!! ๐Ÿ™‚

We have heard them chirping and they have started to crack!

The man who delivered them from the farm gave us special instructions in order to look after them whilst they are eggs and then when they hatch and become ducklings…

Can you guess what rules we came up with?

Watch this space…… QUACK QUACK!

Learning about levers

On Monday the 20th of November, children from year 5 and 6 were chosen to go to Lampton School and learn more about maths and physics. The children chosen were: Shlock, Ridwaan, Shanaia and me. Teachers also came as well. They were Mr Tibble, Mr Romero and Barbara Moses drove us there. We had fun on the minibus๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

When we arrived , we had to check in at the office . Our first activity of the day was a word search about maths and physics and then we had to sort the numbers into the Venn diagram so it all totals to the same number (it was very challenging๐Ÿ˜… ). The next part was about push and pull ( forces). We discussed about how many forces there are in the world . ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŒ

Our second activity was to balance discs on a pivot, that was fun. When we were doing the activity we worked with different schools and that was fun. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘The teachers got involved as well. They even said it was challenging for them ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘

When it was 3 o’clock , it was time to go back to school everyone had great fun though and it was amazing learning and working with different people . ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ“š

Our Favourite Animals

In Science, our topic is living things and their habitats and in Geography, our topic is where do our favourite animals live?

For homework this week, the children in Year 2 drew their favourite animals using Purple Mash and wrote a few sentences about them.

Here are some of our favourites:
